On systems with 16GB, this often pushes the OS to use the page file, which causes the stutters described above. it puts immense load on to the system and if the hardware cannot keep up, the game performance will suffer.

Content creation alongside gaming. If you ever have a video editor, Photoshop, or a DAW open while gaming, even minimised, 16GB fills up fast and 32GB removes that constraint entirely. we obviously don’t advise playing games while having memory heavy programs running in the background, nor are we saying that this happens often. all we are saying is that anything that makes use of system ram will have an impact on your game once there isn’t enough of it to go around.

Streaming your own gameplay. OBS or similar software eats 1–2GB depending on encoding settings. On a 16GB system running a demanding modern title, that’s often enough to push you into page file territory.

Single stick vs dual channel matters more than capacity

If you’re running a single 16GB stick, upgrading to a dual-channel 16GB kit (2x8GB) will help more in many titles than upgrading to a single 32GB stick.
